Off to Arkansas! The Annual Jazz in Jonesboro music and BBQ festival was another great success this year, and we were there to handle the sound, stage, and lights. Besides the unbelievably good barbeque, headlining act Josh Gracin and many other bands were there to make the festival come alive. We took our trusty Stageline SL250 and our McCauley MLA5 line array rig to get the job done, along with our Turbosound/Lab.Gruppen monitor rig for sound on the stage. It was definitely a relief to have four sunny, stress-free days in a row!

Sometimes you get lucky and get to work shows with your favorite bands, and that's exactly what happened when Broken Social Scene came to Foellinger Auditorium at the University of Illinois. F&G provided lights and sound, and also enjoyed a killer set by the band and the openers Land of Talk. All hail Canadia!

It's always a joy to work at the University of Illinois' Assembly Hall, and we did just that with back to back shows! On Friday, REO Speedwagon came back to their hometown of Champaign and played a great show, showing they can still rock just as hard, if not harder than before. F&G Sound provided lights and sound for the show, flying 24 boxes of MLA5 line array and putting 24 subs on the ground to fill the arena with pristine sound. We also provided a Yamaha M7CL console at FOH for the openers, the Tons o' Fun band. Reports from the audience confirmed that the sound was great, as we put another great show in our resume.

The following Monday, the same rig went right back in the air for headliner OneRepublic, with openers The Hush Sound, The Spill Canvas, and Augustana. Again, the show sounded fantastic as the bands rocked the hall, ending a wonderful October for everyone at F&G.

We headed north up to Chicago for the annual Q101 Block Party. We were excited to be working with some top rock acts, but the weather was not as excited as us, leading to one of the most rain-soaked events I've ever been a part of. The first day got rained out, and we had to move everything from a gigantic Stageline 320 stage to a very compact Stageline 100 to be able to put a show on the next day. However, everyone worked hard to pull off a show, and we got it done to the delight of the Chicago crowd. Hopefully next year is a tad more sunny!

F&G made a quick run to Grand Rapids, MI to do lights for Mothers' Retreat women's conference. We packed up some par cans on truss and some Martin moving lights and hit the road! Pictures below:

It's county fair season again, and this year we'll be providing sound for the Champaign, Logan, and Effingham county fairs. We've been working with the fairs for over 10 years now, and this year will be as fun as ever.

We'll also be finishing up a four part concert series at the University of Illinois' Research Park. This time the headliner was the South Austin Jug Band, who played some excellent bluegrass for everyone on a beautiful night.

Another yearly show for us is the Urbana Sweetcorn Festival, which kicks off the new school semester and hosts a variety of musical acts. We took our Stageline 250 mobile stage and McCauley MLA5 line array and helped put on a great show. Foghat was this year's headliner, and we happened to take a few pictures to share.

We've been all around the midwest lately, spending some time in Sandusky, Ohio doing sound stage and lights. Our Stageline 250 mobile stage also spent some time in Elkhart, Indiana at the Elkhart Jazz Festival. The rest of the summer is very busy for us and next weekend we'll be in Elgin doing sound and lights for Ekoostik Hookah, Son Volt, Rusted Root, and even more bands.

F&G Sound provided lights, stage, and sound for Lewis College in Romeoville, IL. A great show was had by all, with Hellogoodbye, Ludo, and Last Fast Action providing the entertainment for the night.

For close to a decade, F&G Sound and Second Church of Christ have worked together to provide Easter service at the Palmer Arena in Danville, IL. Not quite a simple production, this year included a flown line array, large monitor rig, four flown video screens, full lighting, and plenty of hard work! The service went on without a hitch, and once again we helped turn the arena church service into reality.

Jackyl came rolling into town, and F&G was ready for them. The sold out show was at the Palmer Arena in Danville, IL, with openers Boomslang showing the city what Danville metal was all about. We happened to bring the camera along as well!
